Of man with beast
Imprinted
Upon concrete,
Each footprint
As clear
As when they walked.
A paw upon a sole
Stamped
As if in molten wax,
A seal of canine friendship.
What greater monument
To such devotion
Stippled
Along a London highway,
Than to be forever traced
Upon a slab clad pavement,
Beneath
A suburban skyway.
